Anthony Petrello Turns His Pain Into Hope for Many Children

Anthony Petrello has had lots of success in his life. He won a scholarship to attend Yale where he got a bachelor’s as well as a master’s degree in math. He is also a graduate of Harvard Law school and spent 12 years with a top New York law firm. Anthony Petrello is also the president, chairman and CEO of land based Texas oil and gas drilling behemoth Nabors Industries. In 2015 they paid him a whopping $68.2 million, making him the highest paid CEO that year. Anthony Petrello is also married to a gorgeous soap opera star.

But Petrello has also had to deal with his share of pain. His daughter Carena was born prematurely. Doctors also diagnosed her with a neurological condition called periventricular leukomalacia. The condition limits her ability to walk and talk. Seeing someone he loves dearly having to face a wide range of challenges each day has been difficult for Anthony Petrello. But rather than wallow in sadness, he has embraced his reality and his doing his best to use his resources to help others.

In discussions with Texas Children’s Hospital where Carena was born, Petrello found out they wanted to build a neurological research center to help children with similar challenges. Anthony Petrello donated $7 million to the hospital to serve as seed money for building the facility. He also helped with their fundraising efforts to garner the hundreds of millions of dollars it took to build a world-class facility with a top-notch staff and the best equipment. And the project has been a success. Visit his Twitter Profile.

Texas Children’s Hospital is now providing a growing number of children with neurological disorders with cutting-edge treatment at the recently opened Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute. The tireless, unselfish work of Anthony Petrello helped make it possible.
