The New Chairperson of Reno Airport Board and CEO of Squaw Valley Ski, Andy Wirth

Andy Wirth has a huge experience in the hotel industry and mountain resort of up to 25 years. He holds the position of the Chief Executive Officer and President of Squaw Valley Ski.

Andy’s existence in the Squaw Valley Ski had started before he was born as his father moved in as a ski patrol in 1974. It was later in life that he met with his mother who was a college student in Chico State by then.

The Squaw Valley native passion brought the birth of Andy Wirth in 1963. He grew up in a hut near Squaw Valley Road together with his parents. His parents taught him skydiving a thing he has been doing in all of his life now.

Andy Wirth attended Edinburgh University and Colorado State University for his university education.

It was in 2010 that Andy was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Squaw Valley Ski. He has been able to give the company an upgrade of $70 M making it an attractive site for tourists.

The firm later merged with Alpine Meadows with Andy’s help of which and still holds his two top positions. He has recently featured in Undercover Boss 2013 episode in which he went undercover at Squaw Valley Ski combined with Alpine Meadows. Andy was recently involved in a near fatal accident of which he hurt his arm during one of his skydiving experience. Andy Wirth was recently named Chairperson of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority Board where his work will be the promotion of air service and discovering new flights.

Squaw Valley Ski is located in Olympic Valley, California and is one of the top tourist destinations in the world. It is well known for its tremendous achievement as a Winter Olympics’ holder in 1960. The resort offers its visitors the steepest skiable terrain.

The resort comprises of five mountains, a creek, and a granite wall. Skiers get to enjoy skydiving from the 9,050-foot peak with access by a 3,000-foot staircase. It has a combination of hotels and elite clubs from KSL Capital Partners.
